Promise Bears: from concept to creation.

How do I know if this is simply a good idea or God idea? That was the question I asked myself when watching Dragon's Den in Spring 2023.

It was an ordinary Sunday evening and the weekly programme was coming to an end, when, into the den came a lady carrying a teddy bear. She introduced her range of teddy bears to the Dragons and won their hearts. - and got investment from all five dragons as well!  This was my first introduction to the Mood Bears - www.moodbears.com - a range of colourful bears aimed to help their owners express and understand their emotions.  However, it was what happened whilst this was playing out on the television, that was to change the direction of my life. As a committed Christian, I know that God is communicating with us all the time but it is rare for me to hear an instruction so clearly as to be almost audible; this was one of those times. I clearly heard the Holy Spirit say, I want you to do this for me.,' and on hearing this, I knew that this was my new assignment.

As with all ideas, it is important to test them by seeing if they stay with you as I have discovered that the God ideas will always remain. By the middle of that week, the idea had only got stronger and it was time to share it with my husband, Gary. Immediately he heard it, he felt that this was from God and so began the journey to bring this idea into reality and this is where the real learning curve began. I once heard Gloria Copeland say that 'God has never asked me to do anything that I believed to be possible' and so I set out to undertake my impossible assignment.

In fact, if God said it, it is already done! We just need to speak it into our situation specifically. When we get in agreement with God's Word and promises (believe and receive), and we speak His words over our situations (faith in action), God is faithful to perform His will in our lives!

It is not our job to perform. We must simply believe and speak. When we do, that situation hears the voice of God and any devil, demon or curse trying to stand up against you will bow its knee to the power of God, the blood of Jesus and the Name of Jesus. It is powerless in opposition to God.

Taking this on board, I set out on a journey of discovery, a steep learning curve and a major adventure. I did not know how things were going to play out or how I was going to bring my bears from concept to creation, but I know that God always sees the end from the beginning and if this was His idea, my job was simply to believe what He said and allow Him to lead me along the path of 'How'.

At times, all of us will feel as if we are facing impossible situations, but we must remember that God is always ahead of us, leading the way. He is for us, not against us and always has our best interests at heart. God only ever sends good things into our lives but there are times when he will allow us to go through challenges because it is in these times that we are positioned to learn and, most importantly, to grow. God never promised us that life would be easy and without challenges but He did promise us that He would never leave us or forsake us and that, when we are in the centre of His will, we have all the armies of heaven on our side.

The Promise Bears are an example of a God idea brought to life through the leading and prompting of the Holy Spirit. My prayer is that you love them as much as I do and that they not only bless your life but also that they inspire you to go on your own God adventure - you'll be glad you did!.
