A Little Bear, A Big Christmas Promise: Giving Hope to Children in Ukraine

Christmas is a time for giving.
It is a time when we remember the greatest gift of all — Jesus — and celebrate the hope, love and joy that His coming brings.
But for children living in Ukraine, Christmas can be a very different experience.
This year, Promise Bears is partnering with Ukraine Christian Ministries (UCM) for our Christmas Giving Campaign 2026. Our aim is to send 200 Promise Bears to children in Ukraine this Christmas.
Each bear carries a simple Christian message of hope and encouragement — a little reminder that they are loved, valued and not forgotten.
Who are Ukraine Christian Ministries?
Ukraine Christian Ministries has been serving alongside churches and communities in Ukraine since 1993.
Their ministry is built around relationships. They work closely with local churches in central Ukraine, supporting pastors and church families as they share the Gospel, meet practical needs and serve people in their communities.
This includes helping families facing hardship, providing practical support, supporting children and youth ministries and creating opportunities for young people to hear about Jesus.
UCM's work with children is particularly important.
Its partner churches run children's ministries, day centres, camps and holiday Bible clubs. Some of these ministries provide children with a safe place to learn, play, build friendships and receive support during extraordinarily difficult circumstances.
That makes our Christmas campaign about much more than sending teddy bears.
It is about sending a message.
A gift that carries a message
At Promise Bears, we believe that a gift can do more than bring a smile.
It can carry encouragement.
It can remind a child of God's love.
It can give someone something tangible to hold onto when life feels uncertain.
Our bears have Bible-based messages on their T-shirts, designed to encourage children with truths about God's love, hope, peace, courage, joy and faith.
And every Promise Bear is personally prayed over before it is sent out.
This Christmas, we want children in Ukraine to receive more than a teddy bear.
We want them to receive a little reminder of hope.

We cannot send 200 bears without people joining us.

Why Christmas matters

And above all, we want to share the message of Jesus.
